Calling Forth the Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem
Jack Hayford and Dozens of International Leaders rally for a Call to Prayer

OCTOBER 3, 2004 – JERUSALEM

Hundreds of Christian leaders are calling for millions of Christians around the world to join together and set aside the First Sunday of October as the Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem, praying for God’s promise of peace to be realized in that historic and troubled City.

Gratefully Grafted Ministries Int’l is standing with this prayer effort, and we invite you to become a part of this global movement by remembering Jerusalem in your prayers on Sunday, October 3. It is expected that 20,000 American churches will take part in this event, as well as countless more churches around the world. Leadership teams are already mobilizing participation in more than 70 nations.

Founding Pastor of Church on the Way and Bible scholar, Jack Hayford, explained in a recent interview on CBN what he believes it means to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. “To pray for the peace of Jerusalem is to pray, ‘Lord, let your Kingdom come and Your will be done on earth, not only in the ultimate revelation of His King coming from Heaven, but in the present revelation of God’s peace as it comes into our hearts in a troubled world, to bring to the heartbeat center of the world, something of a peace that alleviates the tensions, the hatred, the bombings, the torments.’ “

Several high-level government leaders in Israel attended the banquet including the Director of the newly formed Christian Allies Caucus, Joshua Reinstein, who said, “As a Jew, I am comforted and my spirit is uplifted to be surrounded by men and women of faith. All over the world it is Christians who are acting to support the people of Israel. The Jews and Christians are coming together in an unprecedented burst of activity…I have met with Christians from all over the world. Their moral compass is true, they are not confused, and with God’s help, together we will prevail…. I look forward to praying with you in Jerusalem.”
