Musalaha
Musalaha
Ministry of Reconciliation was founded on the belief that through
faith in Jesus, the Messiah,
there is hope for a lasting reconciliation of Jewish and Palestinian
believers. The driving spiritual force of Musalaha is that we manifest
Jesus' uncompromising command that we love each other (John 15:17).
It is our belief that his Spirit, which unifies us as one, must
supercede all interpretive doctrine, race and culture which ultimately
divide us. Ephesians 2 teaches us that Jesus' act on the cross
is as relevant today as it was 2,000 years ago, especially in the
land of His birth, death, and resurrection. We are forgiven through
the cross and reconciled with the Father, and are called to be
one in Him. For this reason, many Jewish and Palestinian Arab leaders
have united in Messiah to face the challenges of "musalaha."
Musalaha
is an Arabic word which means forgiveness and reconciliation. Since
1990 we have grown from a small grass-roots ministry to
a healthy, vibrant organization based in Jerusalem. Musalaha will continue to provide the opportunity for Palestinians
and Jews to dialogue and learn from one another through high quality,
participative seminars and experiences which can result in open
and sincere exchanges of reconciliation.
Into the future...
Musalaha is a ministry that seeks to expand reconciliation between
Palestinian Arabs and Israeli Jews according to scriptural principles.
The central theme is Messiah's atonement on the cross and His resurrection
as the only hope through which this can be accomplished. We seek
to be a model, an encouragement and a facilitator of reconciliation,
first to our own Palestinian Arab and Israeli communities, then
beyond, to the nations. The Model
Confession: Stating the truth; acknowledging the unjust or hurtful
actions.
Repentance: Turning from unloving to loving actions
Reconciliation: Expressing and receiving forgiveness and pursuing
intimate fellowship with previous enemies
Restitution: Attempting to restore that which has been damaged
and seeking justice.
An ongoing effort... Throughout our legacy we have ministered in the land with seminars
-- experiential and lecture, publications and cultural teaching.
