APOLOGY
First of all, I want to acknowledge that I haven’t sent out a Friends of The Galilee Experience Update for over a year now. I did this for several reasons:
1. I had more on my plate that I felt I should have, and something (s) had to go
2. There were and are MANY other good resources available for quality, accurate news from and about Israel, and I had made those sources known to our readers on quite a few occasions
3. There were not very many responses to our Updates, either positive or negative, so I felt they were not that interesting, and probably would not be overly missed.
I do apologize, however, for simply dropping out and not making any sort of announcement that I would be taking a break for an indefinite time. We have had a few people writing in and asking if they had been taken off the list for some reason. I should have let you all know.
Yesterday, in the regular Monday morning worship meeting in our home, I sensed an anointing to do an Update. This will probably be the only one for another indefinite period for time, but I feel it is important.

ROAD TO JERUSALEM, TOWARD JERUSALEM AND BACK TO JERUSALEM!
I have recently become of aware of something remarkable: the LORD appears to be orchestrating a worldwide movement, coordinated by Himself, but implemented by several seemingly unconnected groups, all pointing to Jerusalem as the center.

THE ROAD TO JERUSALEM is the new ministry of Coach Bill McCartney and Dr. Raleigh Washington, who have left Promise Keepers to pursue a new calling: to stand behind the Messianic Jews in the world and to proclaim the “One New Man,” Jew and Gentile, in Christ. These two founders of the incredible movement of the Promise Keepers are starting over from scratch on this new calling. Their purpose statement is “Bringing peace and reconciliation to Jews and Gentiles in Yeshua.”

This summer I had lunch with Raleigh and his wife, and he explained to me how he and Coach see it: the Messianic Jews suffer rejection by their fellow Jews (including their own families in many cases) in order to embrace Yeshua as Messiah and Lord, but then most of the church expects them to stop being Jews and become Christians, thus rejecting them again. The Christian Zionists, who love Israel and the Jewish people the most, generally ignore them as they are currying favor with the non-Messianic Jews and/or the Israeli government, and any relationship with the Messianic Jews is an impediment, even an embarrassment to them. So, the Messianics are rejected on all sides, and have very few friends.

The calling of ROAD TO JERUSALEM is to stand behind the Messianic Jews in the world, and cause the Christian church, and non-Messianic Jews, to recognize them as a legitimate move of God, and/or a legitimate movement among the Jewish people.

The inaugural event is called “THE DESERT SHALL REJOICE” and it takes place THIS WEEK, Friday, December 3, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Esmeralda hotel in Indian Wells, CA, near Palm Springs. There will also be a morning youth event starting at 8:30 AM, and a wonderful evening event, “THE ONE NEW MAN CONCERT,” featuring Paul Wilbur, Joel Chernoff, Marty Goetz, Jonathan Settel, Karen Davis (worship leader of our congregation here in Israel), and virtually every other known Messianic recording artist. DON’T MISS ANY OF THIS IF YOU CAN POSSIBLY MAKE IT!!!

TOWARD JERUALEM COUNCIL II is a movement headed by seven Messianic Jewish leaders and seven Christian leaders from several streams of Christianity, including Evangelical, Catholic and Greek Orthodox. They look back toward the first Jerusalem Council (Acts 15), in which the original believers in Messiah (all Jews) stated that Gentiles did not need to become Jews in order to receive salvation. The door was opened to all peoples and nations.

However, since that time, the Christian church has reversed the situation, and has, for centuries, treated Jews as if THEY had to stop being Jews and become gentile Christians in order to receive salvation. Since the establishment of the State of Israel, and rise of the Messianic Jewish movement, it has become increasingly evident to anyone that cares to look that God does still deal with Jews AS Jews.

The idea of the TJCII movement is to convene a NEW Jerusalem Council (Jerusalem Council II), in which gentile Christians declare that the Messianic movement is a genuine work of God, and that JEWS DO NOT HAVE TO BECOME GENTILE CHRISTIANS IN ORDER TO RECEIVE SALVATION. While the movement was birthed in America, it seems to be finding its center in Europe, the home of the oldest and largest traditional churches (Catholic and Greek Orthodox), and the seat of the worst Christian anti-semitism.

I think it is a marvelous idea to have the Catholic Church, for example, reverse this injustice and downright heresy that was committed and maintained from before the time of Constantine.

BACK TO JERUSALEM is a movement of the House Churches in China. They start from Acts 1:8, in which Yeshua tells the early believers that they will be His witnesses “..in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” These Chinese believers point out that the Gospel did indeed begin in Jerusalem and spread to Judea and Samaria, and then proceeded basically in a westerly direction.

Paul and the early believers took the Gospel west from Judea into what is today Turkey, then further west into Greece and Italy (with some exceptions to this overall westerly movement, such as the early visit of Thomas to India). From Italy it spread into Northern and Western Europe. Centuries later the Europeans took the Gospel west again to the New World, both North and South America. The Americans and others took the Gospel even further west into what we call the Far East, particularly China, beginning with the large cities on the east coast (Shanghai, Beijing), and from there it moved inland (the China Inland Mission), again in a westerly direction.

When the “Bamboo Curtain” closed China in @1947 all the western missionaries were forced to leave and the church buildings were burned. At that time there were no more than a few million believers in the whole country. But, under the terrible persecution of communism, the church grew and flourished. By the 90’s, when westerners could again go into China, the church had grown to over FIFTY MILLION, some say as many as one hundred million, and had reached all the way to the western extremities of China--one of the greatest revivals of all time!

The House Church leaders in China now believe it is their calling to complete the circle, to take the Gospel west from Western China, covering the areas from there all the way BACK TO JERUSALEM. Between Western China and Jerusalem are the most unevangelized parts of the world, the Buddhist nations, the Hindu nations, and, in particular the hard core Muslim nations (Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and others). The Chinese are preparing to send ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND MISSIONARIES from China into these regions. They know many will have to give their lives for the Gospel, but they say that is no more than they have suffered under communism for the last 50 years, and they are ready. CLEARLY GOD IS COORDINATING A VAST GLOBAL PLAN FOR THESE NEAR-END TIMES, ALL OF IT FOCUSING ULTIMATELY ON JERUSALEM: THE ROAD TO JERUSALEM IN AMERICA, THE TOWARD JERUSALEM COUNCIL II CENTERING IN EUROPE AND THE BACK TO JERUSALEM MOVEMENT IN THE FAR EAST.
